As of 10-12-01: Offical tires proposed. Hoosier Item # 37130, 37 Late Model Asphalt Slick, 8.0 / 27.0 - 15L in compounds F53 (medium), and F75 (hard). Competitors may use either of the above compounds, but all 4 tires must be the same compound at all times.

Mandatory LMTRA legal Camshafts proposed:

The cam part numbers can be seen on the rules page. These hyraulic cams stay below .515 lift. They provide a wide power band from about 1600 to 6200 rpms, which stays below the targeted maximum 6500 rpm range for all engines. These are the only cams allowed in the LMTRA series. As of 10-8-2001, an initial LMTRA meeting is currently being planned. It now appears it will be held at one of the many casinos in just North of Tunica, Mississippi (about 20-25 miles south of Memphis, TN ). This meeting is open to anyone interested in LMTRA, so long as they pre-register & pre-pay at least 7 days in advance of the set date.

The purpose of the meeting is to outline, amend, and fine tune prospective rules for 2003. Topics of conversation will include series sponsors, race sponsors, LMTRA stock issuance to provide operating capital, driver payouts, price and issuance of truck numbers and duration of number useage, ticket prices and percentages from events, etc. This will be a working, but casual, friendly meeting as well. We will elect and meet persons who are interested in, or already working within the LMTRA organizational body.

This event will be a daylong affair, with time taken for a lunch break. Lunch will NOT be provided, but there will be ample access to restaurants. The exact cost of attending the meeting will be in 25.00 to 30.00 dollar per person range. More on the exact cost and a mailing address for registration in the upcoming 2 weeks. For this fee, you will receive all necessary forms for filing Owner, Driver, Truck or crewmember enrollment forms. You will also be mailed a complete copy of the Rules and Regulations once they are finalized, which should be within 1 month of the meeting. By paying and attending the initial meeting, you will be able to cast your vote on important issues, elect members for various duties, and see the internal structure of LMTRA. Please note, *** All fees must be PRE-PAID a minimum of 7 business days BEFORE the meeting takes place in December 2001. No one will be allowed to pay "at the door" or enter without paying in advance. The fees are simply to cover the cost of the room for the day and pay for printing the finalized versions of the rules and regulations, plus mailing costs. ***
