Late Model Truck Racing Association (LMTRA) |
|
LMTRA is currently in its early formation stage. The goal of the series is to develop a Professional staff, finalize rules and determine a attractive payout & points program for racers by early 2002. Some testing dates to be run in 2002. Competition is scheduled to begin in 2003. | This picture shows what a Ford engine would resemble in LMTRA competition. Why start another truck racing series? After examining various rules from several truck racing series, it has been determined that a low-cost, high horsepower, very safe form of truck racing needs to be established in the Mid South of the USA. It is the never ending goal of LMTRA to entrench itself for the long haul, by competing on paved ovals and road courses within 300-350 miles of Memphis, Tennessee. This series is not, and will never, be about "buying" a championship through overpriced, 9500 rpm engines and a "special" chassis. If performance need be regulated, it will be done through the use of rev-limiter chips or some other inexpensive method. We hope to aviod implementing any horsepower reduction methods, but if the need ever arises, LMTRA officials will have the option available. Where will LMTRA Race? Here are a few sites, specifically in Tennessee and Missouri that could easily host LMTRA racing events. There are many tracks in northern Alabama, Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southern Indiana that have potential as well: I-70 SPEEDWAY Odessa, MO 5/8 Mi. High Banked Oval (Asphalt) LEBANON I-44 SPEEDWAY Lebanon, MO 3/8 Mi. High Banked Oval (Asphalt) SPEEDWAY U.S.A. Bolivar, MO 3/8 Mi. Semi-Banked Oval (Asphalt) GALAXY 411 RACEWAY Knoxville, TN 3/8 Mi. Volunteers / Help Wanted! |
Compete in at least 75% of the LMTRA series races per season, and you'll be competing for a year end Championship! A very nice season ending check, along with well known magazine promotional write- ups and pictures, series contingency awards, plus more. We pay the field! LMTRA is proud to announce we will have payouts all the way through the field. Even if you finish last, you will earn some money. Granted, it won't be 5000.00 or close to it, but it will be something you can take home! We feel racers should be compensated, no matter their luck that weekend. |
|
See our Help Wanted page...we need volunteers for many positions. |
You can build your own chassis and race it at LMTRA events, so long as it meets safety and tech inspections. For those who would rather buy a chassis, we can refer you to top notch chassis builders at various locations throughout the USA. You can also build you own engine or contact us for your horsepower needs. We will gladly refer you to a top builder who can work within your budget. We don't "make" you buy a chassis, transmission or engine from us to compete in LMTRA. |

LMTRA's first meeting will be held in late 2001 at one of the casinos just north of Tunica, MS. This day long meeting is open to anyone interested in LMTRA. Pre paid registration fee required at least 7 days before the meeting. No one will be allowed entry who is not on the pre-paid registration list. |
Start your 500 plus horsepower, fiberglass bodied, LMTRA truck team today for less than you think! A start up LMTRA truck with engine, body, and complete driveline costs about the same as a ARTS or NAMARS truck, except we have an additional 200 horsepower! Costs to go racing are even more affordable when compared to other truck series, NASCAR Late Models, or ARCA. |
